    Op link is not working.

    Here is the correct one

  • Ooosh. Thats cheap

    • Boom 4 is out now, so retailers will clearing stock of the Boom 3.

But, other than the switch from micro usb to USB-C, the differences seem immaterial, so this still represents a great deal.

      From RTINGS:

"The Ultimate Ears BOOM 3 and the Ultimate Ears BOOM 4 are, by and large, the same speaker with one difference that will appeal to many users: the previous generation charges via a micro-USB cable and the new generation opts for USB-C charging instead. Beyond this, differences in performance are marginal at best. The newer iteration features slightly more bass (though it's still far from bass-heavy) and a less rolled-off treble. That said, it has a slightly shorter continuous battery life. Users who already own the BOOM 3 and aren't desperate for USB-C charging would be advised to hang on to their current speaker."

  • Can these be completely turned off? I have the Version 2 and they removed that option a few years back, so on the odd occasion I want to use it it is completely dead.

I don't think so, I've noticed mine does this if i don't use it for a period, it appears to discharge over 2-4 weeks to being completely dead.

  • Not quite the $74.5 each of https://www.cheapies.nz/node/46376 but close.

But this needed to buy two?

      • Indeed.

Good deal, Micro-USB for charging prevents me from pulling the trigger on this though.

Thanks for pointing that out, I was about to buy and just remembered how annoying it is to find the micro usb.

  • Looks like they have it a JB Hi fi as well for the same price

    • Probably clearing stock so a new 2025 model can come out

      • The Boom 4 is already on the shelves, so yeah, the Boom 3 gotta go.

But other than the change to USB-C, the Boom 4 doesn't seem to be materially improved, so for people who can tolerate micro usb, this is a great deal.
