I was about to say, it shows as $396.80 for me, but iirc AU amazon shows in AUD and doesn't convert to NZD at checkout, unlike the .com store which does actually show the final price in the selected payment card's currency.
Not bad, but anyone upgrading keep in mind the 5900x is best suited for productivity uses

If you're a gamer, you can also get the 5700x3d for $435.93nzd which would be way better for only a tiny amount more.

    • Or grab 5700X3D for $300 on AliExpress

      • What's the likelihood that those haven't been used in a mining rig of some nature?

        • Don't expect they would be, there are better options for that type of workload.

They are usually just processors that are bought in bulk trays by OEMs and go unused.
So, you get them cheap, without a box, cooler and, warranty.

        • A few AliExpress posts for that item on OzB
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/amd-ryzen-7-5700x3d

        • Doesn't matter if something has been used for mining, it has no impact on performance or longevity and minders are more likely to look after their hardware because it's what generates them income (that being said, a CPU isn't what you mine on these days so no one would really bother using such high performing CPU's in mining rigs). I have a 5600 I bought off aliexpress. CPU's from there are fine, just buy from a reputable seller who has lots of sales/feedback as they'll be most reliable and easy to deal with any problems.
Also, just remember even if it says "new", it's second hand.

      • Cheapest reputable seller seems to be about $369 after shipping/taxes are paid, and keep in mind those are all clamshell packages (no cooler) and secondhand, even if they claim to be new, they're very unlikely to be new. So for $60ish bucks you'll have a brand new one with the cooler (better for resale but no one should be using OEM coolers on these cpus). Either way is safe, some people just hate buying secondhand/aliexpress

  • it says it doesnt deliver to my address in nz..

    • Out of stock, so it's showing the Amazon Germany one instead.
