Use the search link to check if your local store has a $34.99/kg salmon fillets with a "cracker deal" icon. I believe that most stores in Christchurch have the deal.

Not sure about other cities, but it's normally around $50 in Christchurch.
This was many years ago (definitely not since 2020 - in fact I feel this was around pre 2015). It's always $50 now and anything below $50 is considered a 'special'.
$35 is a very good price IMO.During COVID High Country salmon was on sale for about $30 per kg for the fillet.
Ya once upon a time……
New World Halswell has it as $59.99/kg.
Countdown is $44.50 a kg today.
So a bit harsh downvoting for your exp 5 years ago.https://www.woolworths.co.nz/shop/productdetails?stockcode=7…

$44.49 in my local Auckland NW - it's time for us to move to the South Island! : )
The average export price for chilled salmon fillets in 2024 is $31.84 to end October. For the month of October its around $30.00/kg. These prices are FOB (and GST exclusive)
In 2019 it was $32.08 on average so Vishnu if you were getting it at $12/kg I hope you posted a deal.

Those prices are probably the clearance packs that have gone rancid.
If you are in Christchurch, look out for Akaroa Salmon, the other day they have fresh Salmon Belly fillets for $24.9/kg
I remember salmon used to be $19.99 per kg!
I remember a few years ago, $25/kg was a good price and it was common to be that price on special, has Salmon gone up that much that it’s considered a sale if it’s $35/kg?
If so, what’s normal price?
