I really hope they've learnt something, and give out, say, a $100 card, rather than five $20 cards. Last year, I think they were all $10 cards, and it drove the checkout operators bananas!

Somebody in the office had a brainwave and thought by giving out 10 $10 vouchers people would come 10 times to the store to spend them.

  • +2

Interesting, that is the largest it's ever been.. by quite a bit.

Last year it was $10 Store Card with Every $75 Spend (About 13%)
Year before it was $15 for each $100.

Yes, they worked that one out over the year by increasing prices slowly. Also, with their financial woes they are trying to generate revenue.

Just remember you need to use them within three months or something like that.

I bought some cleaning products and got them to price match Countdown.

Lastly you can stack them and get more vouchers in Feb when they had the Waitangi Day sale where you get more vouchers for every purchase.

  • Does this work with price beat?

Am I eligible if I pay by a gift card?

    • Am I eligible if I pay by a gift card?

Whilst I don't see why not, there is no downside to asking that question before paying to be sure.

Are you referring to the PURCHASE of gift cards?

If so, I don't think that has anything to do with what LKK is asking?

Deals such as this will almost always exclude the purchase of gift cards for obvious reasons.

        • Fair point. Reading it again, it appears that gift cards are in the purchases of rather than the purchases made category.

    • I find it a bit unclear, but I think purchases with gift cards would be eligible.
They seem to use two different terms - store cards and gift cards. Purchases with store cards (promotional ones) aren’t eligible, but purchases with Gift Cards (purchased previously with cash) seem to be.

But like Alan said, asking before making the purchase is probably a good idea

  • it seems like the T&C only applies to ppl who has different sorts of accounts. does the rules apply to what we buy? I cannot find it from the website. I plan to buy some timber to replace my fence

    • +1

      Your timber is fine.
The only purchase exclusions are phone cards, gift cards, made to order product or special orders.

    • +1

Check your price carefully if you're buying fencing timber.

If you have a SmartMate account with them, the discounts on treated timber are quite decent, sometimes more than 20% (more than this Boxing Day deal can do). My SmartMate gives 10-25% discount on timbers depending on their use.

I get 30-40% off timber from Bunnings PowerPass so Mitre10's Boxing day deal is basically useless for me if I were to purchase timber from them.

      • thanks for the advise. unfortunately I dont have tradie account.
