2 in 1 Portable Lamp and Wireless Charging Base $15 + $6 Delivery ($0 with $65 Spend/ C&C/ in-Store) @ Kmart

150

Another clearance from kmart for an RGB battery powered lamp and 10W wireless charging pad. Can easily spend more than $15 on a rechargeable lamp or wireless charger so seems a decent price for the pairing.

Ozbargain post for these is here discussing what they are like.

Yep - seeing that quite often now.

It's a normal USB charging brick needed. I just got one of the lamps this morning. Very slow charging (says over an hour to charge to full from 75% for my Samsung S24). My phone usually takes about an hour to charge from empty using a cable.
It will sit on my bedside table for now, but if you already have a lamp, it's probably not worth it.

Samsung s24 only has max 15 watt wireless, so the speed you said is normal for a 10 watt. I stopped using wireless charging after tracking the temperature, used to just put on wireless pad overnight but then saw it was sitting at mid 40s which isnt good for battery life

Yes, you're absolutely right. It's called induction cooking.

      • It would be slow at 5v2a but also with the heat generated it will charge even slower since induction is like 80% efficient. Its not something you would use long term or at all
I use the technology in my car and the battery gets too hot to charge so i put the aircon on.

  • I have a rgb stlye light and use the red light at night, it is super easy on the eyes. Likely a similar reason scientifically how a phone goes into a red spectrum in the evenings to support sleep.

    • We use standard bedside lamps with e27 smart bulbs on red for our kids night lights and it works great set to red at 5% or less. For the older one we have a green light go routine to try and keep her in bed until it turns green at 6:30. Handy being smart as if we are up anyway with the smaller one we can trigger the green change earlier without going in to the room and keep reinfocrcing the green light means they can get up approach.

We liked this approach as we couldnt find anything we liked so ended up with generic white base lamps and let them go buts with stickers to customise their lamps to their tastes.

I also just picked up a pair of the wifi ambient lamps at $15 a pop in the riccarton branch, they don't seem to be listed on our kmarts site anymore but heres the ozbargain discussion around their version of the deal.

    • Nice one, were there many left?

      • Probably about 8-10 left at 11:30 this morning. They are down the back with the computer stuff on the back wall.

        • Thanks!
