Wow, yours have lasted 5 years?? That's a good run! My kids usually have a crack in theirs after 6 months and it's lucky to make it to the end of the year in one piece š
Ours look like it's been through a warzone. Cracks, hinges broken, apple stickers all over, vivid marks all over, mismatched inner tray colours. Tbh, I was surprised that they lasted so long. Towards the end, I had to tell the kids to "respect the lunch box or you will go hungry" i.e. don't swing the backpack, don't do a toss and slide, don't stand on it to see who's taller etc.

Couple notes:
1. The bottom will dent easily if dropped
2. I find the lip quite sharp on the corners of your month, but this is just a personal gripe.Cannot beat the insulation on this thing, keeps liquids cool / hot for ages.

Sistema are good, but they're basically the Briscoes of storage containers, they're always 50% off somewhere.
The new Sistema boxes with the clips attached to the lids are rubbish compared to the old ones. Thinner plastic and harder to use the clips, especially if you're an older person with arthritic hands. Their Brilliance range is much better, albeit more expensive.
Yes, i would rather buy the old ones, they made use of the space.
Also - the old don't crack/shatter as easily
