Agree with Teckiwi. There are a lot of nice tripod on TradeMe for a reasonable price. I normally wouldn't use tripod at all unless taking long exposure photos or group photos. The only other time I would use it is as a stand for my flash unit. Most "cheap" tripod are very fragile and will bend very easily when accidentally kick or blown away by the wind, it could damage your more expensive camera. If it is just for normal use, I suggest to get a faster lens instead (f/1.4 - f/2.8). If you must get a cheap tripod, my advice is don't use it outdoor when windy and make sure no one is around (especially kids). Go for good brands like Giottos and Manfrotto, they we last for a long time. This is a reasonable price for a half height tripod on TradeMe
