Don't care enough to know the details of these people but I do know these guys are getting kickbacks and monetary benefit from somewhere.
There was some drama on the Aucklandeats subreddit and members collectively decided to kick these guys off the sub and ban their posts because of it.
Further it's just a couple of people going to a few selected places they arbitrarily choose. Pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.I see they can't post in aucklandeats, self promoting.

Fair enough! I've found their recommendations really killer. However I'll say, they were kicked off due to self-promotion, mainly as the mod of the subreddit is a hypocrite. Also they poll the community for their recommendations, so not quite arbitrary. In the grand scheme, it is subjective, but Downlow is "down low" on my list of burgers personally.
I used to work near Lambton Square Eatery and there was a Downlow in there with a 2.4 rating lmao.
Other locations have really bad reviews too, so I've never been. I've seen them shilling 2 for 1 deals on Uber Eats which would usually be of interest but being Downlow, the reviews put a new perspective on why they may be doing it.
I got it once with a 2 for 1 and I tell you I wouldn’t get it unless it was 2 for 1. They were half the size of burger fuel and the same price.
yea they are not great, this deal you are only saving a few dollars. i like the conventional burgers.
Two stores that I know of have opened and quickly shut. That says alot.
Their seasoning of their patties is weird, perhaps it's American style like wahlburgers. Score 1/5
On the one hand, that is a decent price for a burger nowadays. However as a Cheapies recommendation I would look at "Best Bites Uncovered" which has a blog for value scores compared to ratings, so you get the tastiest bite for the best price. Hope it's cool I share it here because these guys don't take payment to influence, I have found their recommendations primo.
