Hey there,

DeWalt DCMHT563P1-XE 18V 5.0Ah XR Li-ion Cordless Brushless 550mm (21-1/2") Hedge Trimmer Combo Kit

Just bought the same brand new DeWalt kit at Mitre10 Hornby via their price match. 3 years of warranty.

I ended up with $258,4 bucks which is not so bad, I believe. (Their current price is 399, btw.)

However, if anybody is extremely in need of a good hedge trimmer and wants to have a brand new one for a reasonable budget, β€” no need to search any further.

I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase.

    • Showing out of stock for me on pick-up at my closest store, but still seems available for shipping.

Spoke to them this morning = eta new stock 6-8 weeks. Mitre10 wont pricematch a "pre-order" or the person I spoke to wouldnt anyway.

I bought this EGO hedge trimmer kit on the weekend, on sale for the same price ($299): https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/ego-cordless-hedge-trimmer-ki…

I have heard better things about EGO vs DeWalt when it comes to power garden tools, but I haven't personally used any DeWalt garden tools. The EGO tool has a longer blade (61cm vs 55cm) and has a larger battery (140Wh vs 90Wh). Both tools are brushless and claim approximately the same cut capacity.

It probably comes down to which tool ecosystem you have bought into, and whether you can get the price match that OP did.

      Hey mate,

U can b absolutely right about EGO products. I certainly can accept that.πŸ‘πŸ»

My problem is that I have never tried them previously. Maybe unfortunately, dono.

I've got a good number of makita and dewalt tools in our household and I do love them both, tbh.

What I do know at the moment that I tried out that DeWalt machine on the hedge yesterday afternoon. It's smth around β‰ˆ2 cubic meters in volume, roughly.

      What can I say:

It's a bloody monster!πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ» Half an hour β€” and the job was done.
Yeap, I wouldn't mind it, if the cutting blade was 60 (and not 55), but for that price ($258,4) β€” I'm more than happy with that purchase.

      As for the battery:
3 bars of green light at the beginning and those same 3 bars at the end. Splendid! πŸ‘πŸ»

      But once again,
Maybe EGO tools are even better than any DeWalt ones, I cannot judge at this stage, sorry… πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

      Cheers! πŸ‘‹πŸ»
