Qantas/American Airlines/Sichuan/Hainan Airlines to Rome, Italy from $1312 Return (Mar-Nov) @ Beat That Flight

Italy calls! You can fly into Rome, then take the trains to easily get between cities. I was going to do two separate deals for the QF/AA flights and for the Hainan flights, but it's easiest to just combine. If you have a strong preference, choose the airline from the filters on the page.

Fly Auckland to New York direct on Qantas, and then jump across the pond to Europe on American Airlines! Only one stop all the way to Europe is pretty nice.Other dates are sometimes Hainan Airlines, the 5-star Chinese airline already highly popular with visitors to Beat That Flight, and Sichuan Airlines too.

  • @beatthatflight
I am planning to travel to Seoul on 2025 Late Dec to 2026 January, when would be the ideal time for me to buy the tickets?
Usually for normal seasons I buy them 3-6month advance, but I have never bought at peak season before.

    • +2

Peak season all bets are off. I'd start looking 9ish months ahead and when you see something grudgingly acceptable, grab it. It's unlikely to have sale fares, usually.

One proviso is the Chinese airlines (like Hainan) which seem to do their cheaper tickets 3-6 months out, based on my readings of the last 15 or so months. But I can't guarantee it :/

  • @bestthatflight my son turns 16 mid Sept and I would love to take him on a father-son football fuelled trip to Europe and the UK to catch some games. Manchester wpuld be a destination. What would you advise us to do to keep an eye out for great flight deals? Would live a premium economy circa $2500 pp return

    • https://www.beatthatflight.com.au/index.php/sign-up/ would be a good start, but I'd keep an eye especially on the Chinese airlines as they tend to do 3-6 months out. I'd also consider looking for the cheapest flight to Europe, don't focus on Manchester, and then once you're in the continent use trains or low cost carriers to hop around.

  • Probably wouldn't book a Hainan flight at the moment
