Great price due to the varying prices in Henderson, Auckland. The NPD Henderson opening has caused various issues with pricing, and the market keeps flipping back and forward between, Gull, Waitomo, Caltex and Z.
[Sharetank] Unleaded 91 $2.599/L, Unleaded 95 $2.789 @ Z Te Atatu (Auckland)

Are they? Where is this info coming from?
What if the next comment says prices are tipped to go up, buy now… Who do we listen to?
Sorry, should have provided more context. I'm not an avid watcher of barrel prices or their influence on NZ fuel prices (but anecdotally it only has a very mild/distant impact), however NZ Herald had this article a couple of days ago: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/cheaper-petrol-on-the-wa…
Was 2.40 at my local pak n sav on Saturday.. Thought id hold off but come Sunday it was 2.58 and hasn't cone back down since.
They've done this every few weeks for the last couple of months as far as I can tell, dropping as low as 2.38 from what I saw between Albany and Silverdale to try and beat Gull discount days. If you see a sudden jump like that and it looks good, I'd say grab it.
But the OP was specifically posting about Z Sharetank. I haven't seen prices cheap enough to make it worth it for a long time, and I think waiting is still a better option than filling your Sharetank at $2.60
That price is correct. However only comes into place on the following occasions:
- Gull Promo Day
- NPD opening a new site.
In regards to long term… I look at it like this… Whats the national price according to Gaspy?
$2.657 for 91
$1.957 for DieselSo anything 6cpl or more below these prices i carefully consider Sharetank. Thanks for listening to my TED TALK 🤣
To give context… NZHERALD is probably not who you want to take financial advice from.
Allow me to give some clarity: Due to the decreasing oil prices, they expect prices to drop. HOWEVER… All Mobil dropped 4cpl last week as part of a national price drop and MOST other sites dropped.
In regards to PaknSave and other sites around HENDERSON in Auckland… The new NPD opened up which caused prices to yoyo… and seem to have stabilized with Waitomo and Gull at $2.519.
i think its best to wait. prices were 2.44 for 91 during the week,i saw shell's wednesday deal cheaper than sharetank at my local.
Fair enough
They haven't been competitive this year unfortunately.
For us that dont have the luxury of competition outside the main 3 (4?) they are.
Hope the new app release tomorrow dosent break it iykwim…
Oddly enough i got $50 on this and went past onehunga station and it was 2c cheaper at the pump lol.
Same price in Bethlehem (TRG) & Curtletts Rd (CHC)
Prices were 2.457 for 95 last Thursday at Lincoln Rd PAK'nSAVE, with their 10-cent-off discount. This price has been common every Thursday for the past few months, though ShareTank is a different story and has quite a long queue.
Dunno about 95 but for me who doesn't have any of the other discounts, going by Gaspy PaknSave Lincoln Road has generally been the best for 91 on Thursday/discount day for quite a few months now. Gull and NPD are generally better without discount but PnS has been the best after 10c discount which is easy with $1 spend of frankly you can probably pick of the car park or dirt near corner where there sign is at junction of Universal and Lincoln. It was 239.7 this Thursday before discount i.e. 229.7 after.
I don't think I'm only one who finds it best since nearly always several cars long queue even to like 2100-2130. Past Thursday was particularly bad since no 91 on one set of pumps. Since it's unstaffed no one to tell people to go there if they were after 95 or diesel so I'm sure some could go but didn't and sometimes people didn't notice and were after 91 until to find the problem the have to either give up, requeue or convince someone to let them into another pump ahead.
Occasionally Westgate is better especially around Christmas. Also I think it can depend on time of day since sometimes changes a few cents. I don't pay that much attention to CostCo but assuming they don't have any discount I think it's often worse again except around Christmas.
PnS Manukau has also possibly been traditionally cheaper and maybe some of the other stations there although don't pay much attention to them, way too far to be worth it. PnS Manukau only does 6c I believe so cheaper on Gaspy doesn't mean cheaper in general. (To keep things simple I don't use automatic discounting and just calculate it mentally.)
If you don't want to spend times in the queues, price on Saturday often aren't too bad I think with the lesser discount day. Although queues inside PnS are likely far worse then.

Yep just bought 155L at that price
Did you happen to see the 95 price?
Z Henderson Valley
91- 2.499
95 - 2.689
D - 1.799
Are you in AKL?
(Midday Monday, yet another Gull small (12c) discount day 😏 : if U need a fill up and are in central Auckland area &/or it's feasible to pass theiugh Manukau Road, Epsom soon : Mobil Epsom (full service) & the Caltex (self service) : Gaspy showing confirmed their 91 petrol at $2.42 (that includes their std 6c off discount schemes).
Prices are tipped to come down over the coming weeks, right? Probably best to hold off, especially when you can often still get ~2.40 or less in several places across the city.
