Yes not sure whether to get the 4K or not. Last year I had the occasional drop out when streaming it at only 1080p.
(when at the same time youtube could stream 4k with no issues). So its an issue on their servers probably. I'm sure if I buy 4K and it doesn't work properly, they wont refund it!
There's an upgrade code valid until the 17th for 15% off Premium.
F1TVPremium2025
More info here(support.formula1.com)
Use that when you upgrade from Pro to Premium and it drops the price from $160 to $134 for the year. Premium includes multi-viewer which is pretty good for out of the box (Yes I know there's an actual app called mulitviewer!) Also onboard cameras are at 1080p rather than 720p for pro. Watching yesterdays FP sessions with it was pretty good.
It's still cheaper than 3 months of Sky Sport.
Thanks,
still cant decide if I actually need it or not…..so the upgrade price is $134, on top of the normal $99?
You pay for pro ($99) then you go to upgrade your subscription to Premium, put the code in and you then get charged another $134. The $99 then gets returned to your CC in 2-3 days.
DO NOT BUY THIS! does not work on windows/chrome!! I am going to demand a refund.
some more info while the safety car is out. 4K is only supported on apple tv/roku according to reddit.
The new interface is a bit crap, you can no longer choose your bitrate. it doesnt work at all for me. stream freezes.
luckily i had another copy of chrome that i hadnt logged out/back in, so it was under the old interface so I could watch
the race,
I used the free trial and wont be extending the top package and roll back down to the arandard 1080p one. I dont have any way tj make 4k work and multiscreen is wasted ao im happy to srick with the standard one.
@Everettpsycho: yep, i wish i had used the trial on a different email address first. Well I'm stuck with it now, cant go back.
At least I got it working, if the stream freezes after 30secs-1min or so (it did this on two PC's for me), to fix it I upgraded to the latest chrome (installed version), and it works.
I use chrome portable, so will have also have to see if the latest version of that also works.
@Everettpsycho: Final update, Version 134.0.6998.89 of chrome portable does not work, but the same Version 134.0.6998.89 installed version of Chrome does work.
Not sure why yours didn't work. I'm running Chrome 134.0.6998.89 and it's fine. There was a bit of lag starting which I've noticed this season but once its up it's good to go.
Also ran it off a Firestick with similar results.
@divxmaster: Nah I use the desktop version. Looks like a few others had various issues accessing f1tv as well. Shame, cause the previous 5 years it's been a really solid platform.
Where else are you guys watching it?
Channel 10 Australia has it via VPN but was asked by a non tech savvy friend how to see Liam Lawson race and the free trial seemed like the simplest option.
Its actually a bit annoying that (as far as I could tell) there seems no way to avoid the seven day free trial, and just subscribe for the $100.
Means I have to do something again in a week, rather than just being done with it.
Also note the 4k option is not supported on any Android app, only Apple TV/browser etc
If you have an Apple account in India and subscribe using the F1 TV App, you get the India prices - 2k5 INR (~50 NZD) for Pro and 3.6k INR (~72 NZD) for Premium - just signed up for the Pro trial and it's working as a charm.

I had thought of doing that too, but as your subscription lasts 365 days, I don't think you really gain anything much?
Well 4k doesn't work on android so i cancelled the trial, ran out today so went to buy the standard f1 tv pro… theres another free trial. So yeah ill be cancelling weekly and watching for free using trial if this carries on. Happy to pay for it if they stop this repeat free trials bug.
Disapppinted, was waiting for the standard 20% pre season discount they usually offer.
Seems they also added a 4k tier for $150
