I have the cheapies app on my phone, and would like to get a notification on my phone when a new deal is posted. I assume this is possible, as yesterday I received a phone notification that someone had replied to a comment. I've had a look in settings, and under subscriptions, categories, I've got web notifications ticked and all the options under 'notify me of new posts' ticked. I've also got under subscriptions/threads 'all comments' and 'web notifications' checked.
But it doesn't seem to be working - other than that one notification I received yesterday when someone replied to a comment, I haven't got a single notification - despite the fact that multiple new threads have been created since then, and loads of comments have been posted. What am I doing wrong?

You will need to use Telegram your Cheapies notifications as push notifications on your phone, for your Cheapies notifications. Go here, click 'Start Notification via Telegram' and follow the prompts.
To get notifications for every deal posted, you can follow ChoiceCheapies Deals(t.me) and turn notifications on for that channel.
There is a Telegram desktop app which you can use to set it up if you prefer, before downloading the mobile app.

I believe that Chrome sends notifications but only when the app is active, once it goes idle in the background you won't get them anymore.

Cheapies doesn't have an app as far as I'm aware?
You could try the events tab and select to be notified by email when a deal reaches +5 votes.
Also, there is the newsletter option where you can get daily notifications of new deals, just not as they are posted.
