Just stating, to make it abundantly clear, the WD Black P10 Game Drives are regular external hard drives, not Solid State / SSD.

The connectors are also soldered onto the drives, so they can't be 'shucked'.

    • +1

Yes, hence why it says HDD, not SSD. Unsure why you'd want to shuck a 2.5" HDD.

  • The WD P10s aren't compatible with windows 11?

    • they are

    • They will work with Windows 11.

  • Can anyone confirm if the WD Black drives being sold here include the 2 month vouchers of Xbox game pass ultimate that they do in some markets? I'm aware the NotBadTech page is pretty clear that it doesn't but am curious

    • +1

      No, they do not.

  • Thanks to OP for posting this deal. The WD P10 External hdd 4tb at $140 plus shipping seems like a good deal compared to regular external hdd pricing for similar 4tb size. I want to use the external hdd for storing videos and photos rather than games, and connected to a PC desktop, laptop or smart tv. Can someone familiar with this game drive please advise if it will be suitable for my use case ? Basically I intend to use it like a regular external hdd (not for games) and want to be aware of any potential shortcomings. Thanks in advance.

    • It is just a normal HDD.
There's no difference between a 'game drive' and a regular external HDD.

  • Just saying Sandisk 1TB EXTREME is NZD143.59 now.

  • Unrelated, but which 1 or 2TB External SSD drive do you recommend for backing up files and photos backup on W11? Use is as an alternative to cloud backup
