This guy games!
This would have been me if I didn't have kids hahaha. Living the gaming dream.
I got the ROG Ally X last year and I love it. I'm going to make it my home PC as well. Just got an eGPU dock for it.
I really think those PC Handhelds are the future.
really wish the legion go would be sub $1000, I need a handheld with a trackpad and for some reason steam deck is still $1400
If you don't mind buying from Kogan/Dick Smiths you can get a steam deck OLED for $1180. Not quite your <$1000 target but better than $1400
If this is the first version of the Ally, it has a fatal flaw when it comes to wrecking sd cards with how the cooling is set up
Plus ASUS isn't a great company to deal with when it comes to RMAs
Buyer beware.
Yes, for the 6 months I owned the Ally, it was in RMA twice for the SD card slot issue (3 months of repairs in total).
I’m sure I sound shallow but the OTT gamer aesthetic is such a reason not to buy it.
If this looked regular I’d buy it
I had a ROG ally, great system… although I now have a Legion Go as I much prefer the screen size…
Currently using…
Gaming PC for home.
Gaming Laptop for when away for more than a couple of nights..
Legion Go for when travelling for a plane etc or just away for a couple of nights… add in a Logitech Keys to Go + Mouse and you have a full keyboard + mouse setup :D. (And I have a 18"? portable USB-C fold up monitor just coz :D)
