[Mighty Ape] Smart Ape Smart Wi-Fi 3 Outlet Surge Protector Powerboard Issues

I want to see if anyone else who bought these mightyape smart powerboard is facing issues.

I purchased three of these powerboards, and unfortunately, all of them have stopped working properly within a couple of months. Each port has started to fail one by one. Currently, one powerboard is completely dead except for the USB ports, while the other two only have one working port and the USB ports still functional.

The green light is still lit, and I can turn it on and off using the app, but there’s no power coming through. I even tried removing it from the app and re-pairing it, but that didn’t help.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I am inferring that MightyApe have refused to refund or replace them, else you wouldn't be posting here.

What did they say exactly? What was their reason for refusal?

    • No, I haven't raised with MightyApe. I'll contact them. Since 3 of them failed at different times, was checking here if others had the same issue.

      • No, I haven't raised with MightyApe.

Also important that you let Mighty Ape know there is a potential issue with the product so they have the option to do a recall to protect other users if it is a safety issue.

  • Purchased two - one is fine and functions perfectly, the other I dropped from chest height and 3/4 of the ports stopped working.

    • Ohh. Mine was not dropped at all, just stopped working

  • One of mine has a similar issue

  • One of mine, having similar issue.

  • I picked up a few and so far no problems with any of them. To be honest though I wouldnt buy another smart power board as i rarely use the switching on them to need them. I cant find many uses for them where I'd need to independantly switch each socket at one location. Generally a cheaper single wifi plug for the one device i nees to switch somewhere would probably have sufficed and remkced accidentally turning off things i want on by pushing the button in the board.

  • Throw them all away and get some decent ones. Never buy cheap shit mains devices

  • No issues, but annoying that if power is lost, it doesnt turn back on when power restored.
