  • Does the turkey option still work for Netflix? (asking for a friend)

    • +1

Yes. it works. Just checked with a friend :)

    • Yes. No VPN needed even.

    • i dont think its that easy anymore, netflix are cracking down on accounts that arent paid for by a credit card from country of origin that matches, ie you need turkey credit card for turkey netflix, indian credit card for india etc

      • +1

Best way is using netflix turkey gift cards from turgame or similar.

        • Eneba or G2A are just as good as Turgame

    Rip off sods…

I don't really understand where you're coming from.

If its a rip-off, then don't buy it.

Personally, I don't think NetFlix (for example) is worth it right now, so I don't subscribe. I don't see why I would choose to get upset about it though - its entirely my choice.

Neg all you like, but Alan has a point. They increase prices because they can, and some very smart people have done the maths and worked out that they will most likely make more money than they lose (by people cancelling).

As much a rip off as that sounds, it's business. Low end customers that pay little and consume (ie. cost) a lot are not what they are in the market for. If the content is worth it, pay for it. If it's now going to be too expensive then find your content elsewhere.

      • Okay lads cool your plums. I'm here for the cheap deals like you are. Yes of course they can put their prices up but it seems they've forgotten they don't have the monopoly anymore. It's hilarious and astounding that's all.

        • Fair enough - just couldn't understand why you were getting your knickers in a twist about it, when its actually your choice to purchase or not.

          • @Alan6984: Well I pay in Lira so I'm saving. But did they really need to increase the price? I'm looking forward to the second quarter stats…

            • @fruitydoris:

Well I pay in Lira so I'm saving.

Sounds like all the gamers complaining about 'hundred dollar' games, but then encouraging the game developers to charge that by making a choice to pay…. a hundred dollars for a game.

        • You seem to have forgotten Netflix along with all other listed companies have an ultimate obligation to deliver maximum shareholder value to the investors.

When I invest into companies I'm not expecting them to be a charity and provide services out of the kindness of their heart, I'm expecting them to fulfil their moral duties to profit maximise and extract every single dollar they can from their customers to deliver maximum returns on my investment. The last thing we all want is to see them miss a quarterly target because they were too busy worrying about the feelings of the working class.

          • @Bill: Very true - a legal obligation in many countries in fact :-)

Yep, it's like Sky back in the day, and Netflix is a lot cheaper than that.

Don't like it, don't buy it.

  • I pay for a year at a time, usually just before the price increases. Usually 12 months due the price of 10 at the old price then utilizing any deals. Disney late last year using cashback (was doing flybuys before that) and Neon using discount codes. Get Netflix bundled with Spark. Prime Membership for an Australian account for a year is cheaper than paying for Prime Video NZ and includes other benefits. Apple had quite a few months free through codes. No need for VPNs or workarounds. I use them all. Otherwise pay for 1 service a month at a time, watch everything you want then switch to another one and so on. Each to their own.

  • Stremio for the win- every streaming platforms ie. Netflix, Disney, HBO, Hulu for free. The catch is 1080p quality.

    • Not if you spend $30 every 6 months for a Real Debrid account. Well worth it.

      • +1

I don't spend $30 on real debrid. Still completely fine with 1080 & 720. Unless you want 4k.

    • Honestly the biggest selling point of stremio to me is it's all in one place. Even when we paid for services we couldn't find things we wanted to watch as they move around or could drop off the service before we got to the end. Even if we paid for all of them I'd probably still use stremio to actually watch the content.

That and 4K HDR through it looks nicer than what the competition serves up.

  • I use my Indian frd to pay in India n use Netflix , apple , prime on Indian rates . No vpn needed to watch here in nz

  • I have Turkey Netflix, need to connect to a VPN first to sign the account up. The issue I got was working around the mobile number requirment. Used an app call PingMe, got a number to sign up and pay with my Amex each money. Last months sub was $7.11; changes slightly with the exchange rate + change fee from Amex. Ive had this for about a year now, prevously I had it then my account got flagged like many a year ago was paying by a Visa card via a different country. Just wish I could do something simlair for Youtube Prem - that stuff is pricey!
