Warrant of Fitness Voucher $70 (Was $85) @ VTNZ

180

Just came back from a WoF at VTNZ, dropped in and out within 25 mins.

Over the past two years, I have been using VTNZ for WoF, and I have never failed since making the switch. I prefer VTNZ because they have no vested interest in failing your vehicle, as they do not offer repair services.

In the past, I used other garages where the WoF might have been cheaper upfront, but I often ended up spending over $100 on repairs that were not strictly necessary for passing the WoF.

One more thing I like about VTNZ is the detailed report they provide after each inspection. Even if your vehicle passes, they include recommendations in the printout for potential issues that may require attention soon, like rust development or perishing belts.

For full TnC please refer to the website.

*New TnC states the validity of the digital voucher is now 3 years (previously 18 months), so might be a good time to stock up before the price hike again.

Is there a planned price rise that has been announced?

100% agree with OP. Never failed once since I've been to VTNZ. Last straw was 7 years ago when a scam mechanic claimed my engine was making a noise. Asked him to point on the WoF sheet which item I failed. Got told it's not his job to tell me what the problem was. Literally just asked him to point to the WoF sheet provided by NZTA which item I failed.
Complained to NZTA got told since they are not there they can't do anything but did say scam mechanic didn't put a failed result online.
Went to VTNZ immediately and passed.
Been every year since never any issues.
