Athough actress Saoirse Ronan narrowly missed out on a Best Actress gong at last week’s Golden Globes, she feels every inch the winner for having landed the part that brought her such acclaim – gutsy Irish immigrant Eilis Lacey in hit movie Brooklyn. Based on the award winning novel by Colm Tóibín, the film itself has won people’s choice awards at three film festivals, and the 21-year-old actress is over the moon to have landed the leading role.
