    • Bit of a premium on the local price, pretty sure they come in the ¥100 vending machines IIRC.

      • Yep. Became quite a fan of them when visiting. Though the cheaper 100 yen vending machines were hard to come by, maybe 1 in 20?

Though I must say I was fond of playing vending machine roulette. I managed to get a coffee porridge/slurry once.

        • Ha yea we saw about the same ratio, always hunted out the ¥100 machines, too stingy to pay more than that! We went on a hunt to find a hot cocoa drink for ¥100, it took us weeks to find!

        • @Shaw: in Kyoto our airbnb was just down from either an 80 or 90 yen machine. Not everything was that price but everything was sub 120 which was great.

        • @eXDee:

Awesome, loved the wending machine culture, it was a really cool novelty.

Hoping for some more bargain flights in the next 12 - 24 months, keen as to go back from another month.

        • @Shaw: nothing is going to beat the Lolly scramble we got. $500 return direct fares.

        • @eXDee:

Nice! When was that? We paid something like $700-$750 return, via Aus.

Sold out quick, Tokyo was one of the first to be released so most people hadn't realized. LAX and SIN sold out nearly instantly.

        • @eXDee:

          Ahh ninja! Very nice!

    • What the hell is a Pocari?

      • Lol, a drink.
