How does it compare to BitWarden, and what happens after the end of the two years?

Is there a compelling reason to swap? If BitWarden 'sells out' then I'll be looking to move anyway, but for now, it seems to do everything needful in a password manager, and is already free.

Would you consider self hosting it, or using Vaultwarden?

I also just noticed they increased their prices for premium plan.

      • I only use the free version myself.

    • I have been a Bitwarden Premium subscriber for two years. While the price has increased from US $10 to $20 this year, the service remains well worth the cost, and a small amount to pay as as appreciation for such a great product.

    • Bitwarden is great, and if your company uses it on an enterprise plan then employees get a free family plan (which is what I have).

If I ever leave, then it's $40USD/year but it's still worth it. Stuff like emergency contacts and shared credentials are really good, and the apps, including browser, are very reliable and can be set up as your primary phone password manager.

Just looked up pricing for Mega, after the 2 years it's $6.75NZD/month ($81/year)
