  • I've hosted the voucher here

    • And to confirm the vouchers are NOT unique - all have the same barcode

      • Always the case with The Coupon Company :)

  • Good value coupon given it's valid for ~3 months. Hope it does not get pulled like ones have in the past

  • Can you use these codes and show checkout operater on your phone or do they need an actual printed out voucher?

    • I'd imagine they'd want the hardcopy so it can be processed back through their store system, back to the supplier? It's not their promotion but that of the product manufacturer. So they'd need some evidence as to why they are giving away store product.

  • has anyone tried these yet? taste any good?

Yes, bought some a couple of days ago. You do need the printout as it has to go into the cashier's till to balance the takings.

Note that there is a size (weight) limit on the voucher. Independent Fisheries have one larger 700g product not included in the voucher deal. Though you can take your chances with the checkout person not reading the fine print. Pick a busy checkout and you might get away with it.

Independent Fisheries used to run a factory shop at their processing plant in Christchurch. Heavily discounted fish products, plus a larger range of unrelated 'remainder' food products. For example BK or KFC would sometimes trial a new product that didn't quite work out. These would be sold cheaply through the shop. (If they were 'stamps' they'd probably have had collector's value!) Used to be a great place to shop with very cheap deals on seafood as well as meat, frozen veggies, and many other goods.

Unfortunately the whole factory closed down over a year ago. Didn't think they were in business any more so wondering if these might be the last of their frozen stock? Or perhaps processing off shore?

Product as good as any other frozen fish products. Cheap at this price.

    • Thanks for the insight on the product and the company, Jay.

Independent Fisheries seem to be very well still in business. Looking at their homepage, they sell products for the local and export market and I know they do Foodservice as well.

      Also from their website:
"With our own staff ensuring top quality in off-shore processing plants, Independent Fisheries Ltd offers an great range of quality processed fish fillets."

So yeah, you're correct in saying they process the fish off-shore.

  • went to a new world and a paknsav in wellington, neither has these

They only have about 3-4 products. It did take quite a bit of looking to find the ones we bought. They were not very visible (fairly plain plastic packaging etc) among the other fish products. There is a list of outlets on their website.
