    Hellers Plain or Flavoured Pre-Cooked Sausages

    For Christchurch members, Hellers sausages are often available at their Kaiapoi factory shop for as low as $1.50 per kg. Well stocked shop with discounted prices, plus spot specials on short-dated stock. Worth the drive if stocking up for a party or the like. (*Verkerks salami factory at Papanui also worth visiting.)

    • Thanks for the advice, Jay. I'm sure Christchurch members will appreciate that.

    • Heaps of factory outlets down there aye!

      • And I'd be surprised if there are many/any we don't know about! Something of a hobby for us.

        • What about the old Herbithan Hairy Cheese outlet on Colombo Street?

        • @Shaw: Know Colombo street well. Can think of half a dozen wholesale places on or near. But no, have never heard of Herbithan Hairy Cheese?

          @Jay:

          Yea, neither, I tried to find it but couldn't!

          Next time I go down there (Next time Jetstar have $9 flights) I'll have to get a list from you on what is where. Maybe a wiki page Christchurch Outlet Stores or something could be handy.

        • @Shaw: Have considered that in the past but couldn't really see the incentive to do so. Has taken a fair bit of work to put together and maintain such a list.

          Couple of years ago, considered putting up a website for that. There are some old sites around but nothing current. Even considered running a weekly shopping bus, visiting different sites each week. In the end, just decided it was more work than it was worth.

          @Jay:

          Yea, fair enough.

          If you do have the data, I'd be happy to format it and make a wiki page around it regardless, the idea being that this would assist both customers and stores, for exposure of such outlets. Your call though.

  • I can see the dairy owners loading their trolleys up with Coca-cola at that price

    • Yet the people that go there and buy them at $1.50 a can wouldn't consider this a deal…

  • Yeah pricing is weird, was at Slyvia Park countdown the other evening , going to the movies , thought instead of paying through the nose for a coke at the picture theatre i'd buy a small bottle at countdown , a 600 ml was $4 and yet i could buy a 1.25 litre or it may of even been a 2 litre one for about $2.50

    • Yea, it's crazy, but it's simple marketing really. People would still buy the 600ml bottles.

  • well i couldn't get the larger bottle in the other halfs handbag lol
