Jay goes on and on about South Island outlet stores all day and night, outletcyclopedia of sorts, but never heard anyone mention much in the North. I certainly aren't aware of any.

      Jay goes on and on

I can stop trying to be helpful to other folk in our community, if that would make you feel more comfortable, Tony. Might become a bit of a lonely place for you though.

Obviously, we don't share much by way of values, community or otherwise.

Oh don't worry, it was far from a complaint, in fact, it was intended as a compliment with a hint of geographical jealousy. Whether it was taken that way or not is another matter :)

  • What about icebreaker outlet at the airport shopping centre and montgomerie road?

  • I used to go to Dressmart, but there is also Fox Outlet (It appears to be dying so not sure if its still good). For girls dresses Pagani outlet was amazing. Other than that, a lot of individual stores, no big centers.

There are stacks in Auckland. A few faves:

Hellers Factory Shop - 10 Ha Crescent, Wiri.
Why Knot - 79 Springs Road, East Tamaki (they have end of line stock for a number of companies. They also get all the NZ natural seconds)
Pasta Madero - 53 A Greenmount Drive, East Tamaki (super cheap fresh pasta, filled pasta etc)

You can also find a lot of shops by driving round the industrial areas. There is a block of outlets on Triton Ave on the North Shore. Driving round that area you will t-shirt manufacturers, greeting cards and more. Same in South Auckland around East Tamaki (baby stuff, shoes, odds and ends).

Coming soon as well (usually October/November) are stacks of importer sales. Hasbro open up the Warehouse for a day and sell things discounted. Perfume importers do actual good deals out of the Courier Post headquarters on Highbrook. And other brands have sales - eg Nivia. I'll post these up as I catch wind of them - almost all are spread by word of mouth.

    • Is the Hasbro sale the one on Rosebank Road in Avondale?

      • Nope, was at the Hasbro warehouse in Albany last time

Merino socks - there's a factory shop on Mt Eden Road, most socks are $10. They have the contracts to make all sorts of school socks from all over the country, lots of soccer teams, make promo merino socks for sports events etc.
    It's these guys - http://www.sockmakers.net/

    No idea about sausages though!

What other kids of outlet shops are you interested in?

    • what kind am I interested in?
Idk, don't really buy things again and again other than food? but if anyone wants to share anything ,that would be useful for some of the readers

If you're after perfume, natio products, makeup, OPI, makeup etc, there's CS company in Airport Oaks.
They a massive wholesaler and supply most pharmacies.

They have new deals every week, which are cheaper than their already cheap outlet prices. So worth keeping and eye on it. You can sign up to their email list too.

Worth going to if you're after a gift.

They also have a big warehouse sale every year. In November from memory. Again fairy well priced (better than the big bucket sales). Great for christmas shopping, But its crazy busy!.
When I get a confirmation of date ill post it up. (a lot of their staff are my customers at work)

Created a wiki page for outlet stores and added all the stores mentioned in the this thread.

  • 2 Big ones:

Dad's Pies cafe @ 57 Forge Rd, Silverdale (Orewa)
They sell factory second pies at $15 for a carton of 10 gourmet or 12 standard pies. They get fresh stock every Wednesday and Friday. Ask the staff you're looking for some seconds.

FYI They make BP pies, and individual frozen pies are available at supermarkets.

Kiwi Ice Cream @ 87 Springs Rd, East Tamaki (South Auckland)
Very cheap ice cream, from the Kiwi and Much Moore brands.

    Others:

Macpac outlet store @ Silverdale Centre (Orewa)
Check online at the Macpac clearance page to determine stock before you go. Note when you look at the "Check instore" page only the colors specified in the clearance page are on clearance. All the other colours are at normal RRP so don't be mislead.

Save Mart @ 21 Veronica St, New Lynn
Recycled clothing - perhaps the biggest selection.

    • Added the first two to the Wiki Page, will add the other two tomorrow when I have more time.

Kiwi has since become Much Moore, and they still have that Springs Rd outlet store. It's just up the road from Why Knot, which is also worth a look for cheap ice cream and many other things.

Yes with regards to the pies, they post new stock on their Facebook page about once every week, so subscribe. They're currently doing a $14 a box special of 12 gourmet pies, while stocks last. The usual price is now $20, but you get a few more pies (20 Standard/12 Gourmet).

Make sure you call them up first to confirm stock before you go, as some flavours go fast. Note they changed their name to The Baker's Son Cafe, and their hours are 6am-3:30pm.

And I agree with Plug, go and visit Why Knot for some great deals. The Much Moore outlet store is nearby.
