AirAsia Auckland - Kuala Lumpur One Way from $229 Return from $474 (Travel Period 19 October 2016 - 31 December 2016)

70

Some decent prices for Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur via Gold Coast for travel between now and December 2016, sample fares provided below for your convenience - just a random assortment over a few months to show options.

Not lowest we have seen but given some are 2 months out you could actually predict and take leave for them, unlike AirNZ's 2017 grabaseat fares!

Sample dates:
Dep Oct 23 $229, ret Oct 29 $245
Dep Oct 30 $229, ret Nov 5 $245
Dep Nov 9 $229, ret Nov 16 $245
Dep Nov 22 $229, ret Dec 3 $245
Dep Dec 4 $229, ret Dec 11 $245

As always these fares don't include checked baggage which can really ramp up the cost of the tickets.

  • Still doesn't beat those Bali flights aye bro! Getting close now.

    • Yeah countdown is on! Have you seen if you're transiting via KUL then you're eligible for the new AirAsia lounge as a premium customer?

      Makes the deal even sweeter!

      • Wow, you champion. Looks like we are based on that chart.

All our tickets are premium flatbed, I'm assuming yours are the same, so you'll have to let me know how you get on with it.

        • When do you travel again? I'm early December so i'll let you know if i'm before you.

I'm flying KUL-Chennai a week later on a premium flex ticket (Which cost the same amount as adding one piece of baggage - weird promotion) which also looks like it includes it so i'll probably have two reports.

I'm actually dropping my return KUL-MEL flight in favour of carrying on to India then the UK.

Sweet, sounds fun. Going on an extended trip around Europe?

You are flying before us, we aren't going until middle of Jan, so the more feedback the merrier. Read some good stuff on Trip Adviser, so that's promising.

        • @Shaw:

Yeah - got a one way ticket India - UK just before Christmas for $260 or so, can't stay away from travel deals!

Yeah sounds like as it's a pretty new lounge it's not very well utilised so not busy as yet! No serious reviews yet either though, suspect we may have read the same tripadvisor thread.

Nice, which airline was that with? I used to, but can't anymore with the wife studying, but hopefully can work around that a bit and see some places.

At $30 it's not going to take long before it gets quite well used, but then again, there aren't always a lot of people air side at KLIA2 from what I could see when we were there, so it could be dependant more on the time of use. Can't complain about free food and a place to relax though, on the floor or otherwise, not fussy!

        • @Shaw:

Thomas Cook - I presume i'm back filling the plane loads of people wanting a hot winter getaway in Goa while I fly for a winter Christmas!

        • @Shaw: what is this cheap bali tickets you're referring to?

        • +2

          @justaddwater:

Shaw and I both managed to score Australia to Bali flights for less than $300 return in AirAsia's premium flat bed seats due to what seemed to be a price error back in March.

        • @asmcar: same price from New Zealand as Aus? dayum

        • @justaddwater:

Nah at that point I don't think AirAsia were flying from NZ, or at least it wasn't that cheap.

Don't know about Shaw but I'm flying trans-tasman on AirNZ then picking up my AirAsia flight in Melbourne.

        • @asmcar:

I got the $139 return WLG - MEL from Jetstar. After adding bags it worked out about $300 return for 2. So WLG to DPS with half the flight on the bed seats and luggage totalled about $900 return for the two of us.
