  • Cheaper on eBay

    • Dunno about SCDKeys, but it's a lottery on Ebay, 4 example: http://feedback.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&useri…
There is no assurance that you are the only one who saw the key.
The key could work 100%, or it could be blocked in a few months due to multiple installations, and by then you can't post feedback.

      • Yea, that's the problem. No matter the source, these keys are always hit and miss, on legitimacy and legality. There was a huge discussion about it on OzBargain not long ago.

If you aren't buying from reputable retailers, then may as well just buy the cheapest, they are all likely to be the same anyway.

  • i bought one from kinguin.net for 43 dollars. it worked fine for me. but i have another MacBook pro that needs windows, just in case i need it.
how do you compare SCDkey to eBay.de?? which one is better?

    • I'd say very little difference, just one is selling their keys via their own website and one via eBay. Keys will likely be from the same or similar source.

  • how can 2 people share the same key? doesn't microsoft know that??

    • Not really, some volume licenses can have thousands and thousands of activations against them.

      • have you seen any reports of microsoft actually deactivating all those volume licences??

      • i only need windows may be just for 1% of the time, because 99% of the time i boot into mac os. i want windows to be there when i need it. and i don't wanna pay 150 for a retail key, its is not worth it.

        • +1

If the key does happen to be deactivate, for $10 - $15 it's easy enough just to purchase another one. You'll also still be able to use the OS unactivated, it'll just whinge after a while.

        • @Shaw:

Yea, but obviously it isn't legit for a volume license to be used for that purpose? Yes there are savings, but then pirating the software is $0 if that is the argument…

        • @cocopops:

Yea, that's the dilemma. As I mentioned, there was a lot of discussion about this on OzBargain, with multiple sides to it. I don't have a problem with these being posted, as they do not break the law, but users should be aware of the agreements they are making when activating their software.

  • Microsoft allows anyone to download Windows 10 for free and install it without a product key. It’ll keep working for the foreseeable future, with only a few small cosmetic restrictions.
