Starting today, LastPass will no longer charge extra to access your password vault from different types of devices. That means free users can now access their password vaults from their phone and their desktop at no extra cost.

Previously, you’d need a $12/year premium subscription to access your LastPass passwords from two different types of devices, like the iPhone app and the Chrome extension. Now, that’s included in the free tier. Premium users will still get some added benefits though, including priority customer support, group password sharing, and extra two-factor authentication options. LastPass has long been one of our favorite password managers, and free syncing is a huge advantage over the competition. If you still haven’t gotten started with a password manager, now’s the time.

I personally have been using LastPass for the past year, and would never dream of being without it. You'll never have to worry about remembering your passwords again (except for the master password), and you can set up two-factor authentication to ensure your account doesn't get compromised.

Supports all major platforms. The free version alone was worth it just for the browser intergration on PCs.

Thanks for the head up! Just bought the humblebundle deal tho..

    • To be honest if you are storing passwords in the 'cloud' 2 factor authentication is worth it imo

      • Yeah. Many online services like yahoo have had big security breaches. So this is a must

        • Lastpass had a big hack about a year ago.

        • @ClipIt: It depends on the hack as to the reaction, user logins, well gg (unless 2 factor auth) and then still some gg if the same username/email and password combos were used on other sites. Encrypted passwords, ehh, for a password storing service, I wouldn't worry about this one as they wont be stored as plain text (they shouldn't anyway but ya know). Also depends on the origin of the hack (of course this would be hard to find out)

        • @Rowjo: Yeah, not going to worry about it :). I used to use lastpass but for the bast 6 years now I've been using 1Password which has been great for my 176 logins :).

        • @ClipIt: 176.. Wow! I just use a text document stored on a flash drive, unsafe, yes.. handy, most certainly! Or, just my generic password for stuff I dont care about

        • @Rowjo: Actually just checked, I'm up to 281 now :)

  • Thanks for the info.
Just installed on Android and it says "Your LastPass Premium trial will expire in 60 days"
The main website definitely says "Take It Everywhere (Now Free)" so I expect they will sort that out in the next update.

    • I think there is still a difference between premium and free versions, just the sync feature is now included in both.

      • The premium allows 2 factor auth <3 also, premium (1 year sub) can be got cheap @ humble bundle
