Sony RX100 IV Digital Camera $1298 @ Photo Warehouse

50

No parallel imports! I've had a pricespy alert on this camera since last month. Cheapest ever on pricespy (if you ignore the false international price history, as they don't account for GST + shipping cost to New Zealand). Time limited sale, but doesn't say how long the special is valid for.

New model V has come out, but doesn't add much over the IV. IV has 4K video recording, as well as the best in class CMOS sensor. Check dpreview.com and other review sites for the rave reviews of this camera since model I was released.

  • Didn't realise this model had become so expensive.

  • Yeah. The Model V is $1643! They keep getting more expensive, but it's because it's the best in class digital compact camera. The model V just adds extra number of burst shots that can be taken, and increases the length of recording ultra slow motion video recording. There is still a 5min 4k video recording limit at it's highest quality, due to the camera overheating. Plus you NEED a SDXC UHS-3 card for 4K 100M recording

People can talk about megapixels all they like, but they mean nothing if the CMOS sensor is crap (and most of them are). The other comparable models are the Panasonic Lumix LX100, and the Canon G7X Mark II (Canon are playing catch up). But neither of them seem to be as well reviewed as the Sony RX100. Digital compact cameras still have their place, and although I use my iPhone to take photos most of the time as well my Canon SLR, I still find a need to have a QUALITY compact camera.
