I was going to book for embassy theatre in wellington. Tickets are $19 for standard movie. Was expecting them to be cheaper.

CineBuzz also does a movie of the week for $9, applies to Embassy too, you're lucky if the movies are actually showing there, 3 movies currently https://www.eventcinemas.co.nz/Promotions/MemberMovieOfTheWe…. You have to scan you CineBuzz card or keyring mini card when booking or enter the number online. It's a great deal.
Monterey in UH do $10 tickets Monday to Wednesday and Miro in UH are $10 on Thursday. I'm lucky out there :) I try to avoid paying over $10 for a movie.
Don't really goto the movies myself, but have just updated the title, no issues using this as a place to discuss or list things. Probably better to be posted as deals rather than a wiki page, if they are good deals.

It's crazy the price differences across the country. In Dunedin it's $10-11 for adults at Event(new cinema) and $16 at Rialto.
The cinema that replaced Hoyts is a Reading, $10 tickets for all it's great.
I think reading cinema does ~$10 tickets here in wellington, but the building is damaged from the quake.
You can get $11 tickets from Vodafone http://www.vodafone.co.nz/fantasticfridays, says you have to be Vodafone mobile or bb customer at the time of redeeming. (They also have competitions to win tickets by texting).
Can buy for Roxy, Lighthouse Cuba St or Petone, Penthouse Brooklyn or Monterey UH in Wellington area.
There is a small cc fee and maybe a postage fee added.

Does anyone know a way of getting cheaper Hoyts tickets these days? Vodafone have ended deal with hoyts.
