Decent price drop of usually very expensive sonic electric toothbrush. It seems to be the most basic model of the sonicare range and I dont think they sell this model in NZ, however it seems to have the same sonic technology as the higher end models without all the extra modes which most people probably dont use.

Because they dont sell this model in NZ may have to get replacement heads from overseas as well, often can get third party versions cheaper than offical philips heads.

Also remember if you spend more than $50 USD can get a $10 Voucher as per previous cheapies post.

    • Strange, for a travel style product to be just 110 - 120….

But, http://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/HX5610_01/sonicare-essence-so… is interesting, people are saying that that is the model they are receiving.

      • yeah i didn't click on that. probably mean travel within the contenent.

It's a pitty because the philips product get such great reviews.

          Question:
At the bottom of the battery, does it say that it will work on 110v-240v?
          Answer:
120 or 240V has nothing to do with the battery, but it has everything to do with the charger. This model is 120V ONLY.

          Review:
I had to fight with Phillips for a full refund
On Phillip's website they advertise this model as being able to accept UK voltage as well as American 110v. This was a lie and they gave me the biggest runaround ever just to get my refund (even telling me I was telling lies and that I had received a 240v version, that I found out doesn't even exist!) . They admitted that their website is incorrect but have done nothing to change it, and they also tried to make me pay for the return postage until I threatened them with small claims court action. Really disappointed in Phillips, but if you plan to use it on 110v only and never go on holiday abroad with it, then this is a good toothbrush.

        • @techhit: oh didn't realise, that's a shame, thanks for confirming will expire the post

    • Oops didn't see that

  • The next model up on Amazon should only be $10 more expensive - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KZHP1GG is showing as being USD$39.95 with a $10 coupon option dropping it to $29.95

    • That is a good price, but the coupon only works when spending $50 USD or more, sowould need to add something worth $10 or more.
