Summer Savings!
While the holiday season delivered many special times with friends and family we understand January can be a tough month on the bank balance so today we're giving you the chance to make some savings.
From 7am on Wednesday 25th January until midday Thursday 26th January 2017 we're dropping pump prices by 10c per litre on all fuel grades.
How much we need to spend tomorrow to get $5 and $3 vouchers?
Last time I asked Gull there's no minimum amount although I usually spend $4-$10. I did have one time when I offered the voucher without spending anything
Meant when I "was" offered the voucher. One thing that may help is asking about them before you get petrol, that's what happened when I was given one free. I don't always do that because I always feel a bit awkward doing it but I probably should just get over it.
Interestingly the Gull along Sel Peacock Drive gave me an older voucher. This was expiring on 12/02/2017 which may seem annoying but it started on 01/01/2017 so I could use it today :-) The one in Swanson Road gave 2 of the new ones expiring 19. (Although they didn't give any when I used the voucher, but I'd already gotten 2 from them a few hours before so didn't ask.)
I probably should stick with $4 or less since if I'd done that I think I would have been able to purchase $50, but at my fuel level felt it too risky. (To be fair though, I didn't expect to get a voucher that started on 01/01.)

At least it wasn't sold to Z Energy, otherwise we are all doomed to pay exorbitant fuel prices!

Yeah and there is a Mobil right next to the Gull along Swanson Road so they pricematched.
Mobil (including the supermarket pumps) usually price match, BP sometimes do.
Mobil (including PAK'nSAVE and New World stations) and Z Energy absolutely drop their pump price in Palmerston North when a Gull discount day is on. Mobil often also have their own offer, like today, where you get an additional 10c/L off if you spend $40 or more.
BP and Caltex definitely don't drop their pump price in Palmerston North and this is evidenced by not changing their price when a Gull discount day is on. Sometimes a special AA Smartfuel offer will coincide with the Gull discount day. The exception is Caltex Tremaine Energy Centre, which often drops the price at the pump as Gull and Mobil are nearby.
I haven't checked in a few months, but last time I checked only the Mobil along Swanson Road price matches, as does the BP. These are within 200 m of the Gull.
None of the petrol stations along Lincoln Road generally price match (Mobil, Caltex, Pak'n'save think supplied by Z, Z, GAS Petrol Service Stations) even though there are 2 Gulls within 1-2 km. I think there was once they price matched but whenever I looked recently they weren't. I mostly gave up looking especially since I'm normally just after the vouchers given my petrol usage is very low. (At current prices the vouchers are about 18.5 cents off per litre. So 10 cent discount plus 10 cent off for spending $40 would be less, but $40 is often difficult for me.)

Do you actually drive around and keep track of these? I'm extremely impressed - and amazed you have the time.
I don't drive but did pass some of them today. PriceWatch is often helpful for finding out prices at some stations.
Ah okay. I've found pricewatch is sometimes a bit slow to update or has the names of them a bit off (or their location/area).
@eXDee: At times, there isn't an up-to-date price which is why it's only
helpful for finding out prices at some stations.
As seen in yesterday's prices and ongoing trends, stations of the same fuel retailer generally have the same price, so if you find a price for one station, it's most likely the same price at other stations of the same fuel retailer.
