Got an email from JB Hifi with three online-only laptop deals, this seems to be the best one, and cheapest I have seen for the latest Intel i5. Shame it doesn't have more ram, but for the price this is pretty good.
For some reason the title of the product on JB has i5, but in the email I got and in the description it says it is an i7-7200 processor.
There is also an HP Pavilion i5-5200 for $673… http://shop.jbhifi.co.nz/computers-laptops/laptops/hp-paviliā¦

Good job spotting the discrepancy in the i5 and i7, i've edited in this is a mistake on their behalf. The 7200U is indeed an i5 (and they call it an i5 15" laptop), with those frequencies. I'd doubt we'd see an i7 in this price range too - not that low voltage i7s have a huge performance gain over low voltage i5s.
The lowest model i7 of this generation is the 7500U.
