Jetstar is having a sale ending March 6 with fairly cheap flights to Australia. Prices are better than Boxing Day but never going to beat the return for free prices from November

Dates from late April through to November. All Return Flights.
Auckland (AKL):

Gold Coast (OOL) - $192

Sydney (SYD) - $192

Christchurch (CHC):

Gold Coast (OOL) - $220
Melbourne (MEL) - $188

Good find.

Does anyone recall if we saw sales last year that covered the christmas period? Doesn't have to be this cheap, but better than $500-600 return would be nice.

Looked at numerous dates for Christchurch - Gold Coast return but cheapest I could find was $360 return ($149 there & $211 coming back -October dates)

  Best to use Skyscanner. Cheapest I found was $282 via Tripsta, not Jetstar's website.

I booked for the free return flights, direct WLG GC with free direct return.
Unfortunately, Jetstar have cancelled the direct return flight, so a direct 3 hour flight turns into a 3 hour flight to AKL, 8 hour stopover in Auckland (11pm - 7am), then another 1 hour flight to WLG. With 2 kids too :(
