  • there are definitely better offers than this one goin on at the moment.

Bigpipe - First Month Free ($69 - $129) + No Connection Fee ($49) + Free Modem (12 Month Plan Only) Via GrabOne

    • bigpipe fiber is $79 starting. "Unlimited" Internet is $70 for the same speed

      • At the risk of being cut off abruptly. I'd rather the extra $9 a month personally. Some months we used multiple TB of data (Doing some large backups offsite) and others we average around 500 - 600GB, but by the sounds of it, we'd have been cut off long, long ago.

If it is only 200GB, 500GB, or 1TB, then they should be selling it as such.

        • yes, hence the quotes.

What's "unlimited" internet's hard usage limit, do you know? I haven't followed the drama/development closely

I don't download linux distros so I'm a pretty low user despite being on bigpipe (unlimited), considering orcon now tbh, they work out to be $60/month over 12 months, then $79 after that. early termination fee applies, and it is Orcon

        • @justaddwater:

          Yea spotted those.

Not sure, to be honest. I don't know if anyone except the company know. I read over the GZ thread a while ago, but haven't followed it since. No issues with fair use policies, or limits, but they surely have to state that limit. Much the same as 2Degrees don't for their "unlimited" mobile data plan. It's just ridiculous.

The Orcon deal is actually pretty good, 6 months half or 3 months free, either or, but after factoring in the $79 monthly price, I'd be tempted to even give it a shot after our credit is used up with Bigpipe.

  • Just be aware that they're not really "unlimited", they'll disconnect you without warning if you use too much data, not set any limits (just a fair use policy) and don't provide any tools for you to monitor how much data you use. There are much better options, eg Bigpipe.
