    • I think you need to pay in USD to get the better exchange rate. The default exchange rate offered by Amazon is quite crappy.
But the risk is if you need to get a refund Amazon will issue that in USD as well and bank is going to charge you twice on conversion. So it's your call.

      • As a rule - don't use Amazon or Paypal conversion rates. Generally your bank's conversion rate is better.

    • As others said, pay in US currency.

Most cards charge market rate + 2%. Using Visa's rate + 2%, the current conversion rate (1.414365) would be $174.57.

I've changed the conversion in the title to $175.

  • Incorrect in my experience, amazon conversion is actually very competitive with your bank CC. I've run tests and found the difference has always been less than a dollar .

Visas rate is not just 2% either, the banks also add an additional processing fee on top of the fx margin .
