Hi. can you guys fill us in on the Gull discount voucher system, e.g: does it stack - add to the discount day cents off?. I use 2 unmanned Gull stations in Auckland that often have the lowest pump prices in Auckland, if not NZ, so no station attendants to ask about these "vouchers". cheers.

I think you have to use the manned stations in order to stack those voucher, as the voucher doesn't work at unmanned stations..
The manned Gull station out in East Auckland is around 8 cents dearer than the unmanned one nearby lol
aww man, for those 12 hr specials, other fuel companies are unlikely to match Gull's price
I imagine the one in East Auckland would match Gull as they have always done, but not sure about other Gull locations.
It appears that only Mobil is price matching. You can use those Pak n Save 6c off dockets for more discount.
I actually pump at Mobil Ti Rakau Drive quite often when there's a discount day at Gull just because you can get further discount with the Mobil Smiles card. But in this case today, it's more worth it for me to pump at manned Gull station because of the coupon!
I wouldn't use Gull fuel unless it was a last resort. Subpar quality that will give you less mileage and will gum up your fuel injectors.
Not necessary true, I would say that "basic" fuel is all the same, almost all fuel in North Island comes from the same oil refinery regardless of company or supplier. Whilst it is true that petrol formulations are almost exactly the same, different companies do add a "minor" addictive to their fuel so they can tailor their product and produce different octane ratings. You would hardly notice any difference if your car recommended fuel is 91, taking 91 fuel from different companies is more or less the sane and yields no significant results. As for "premium oil" like 98, it is a different story, it is cleaner and in theory should be more fuel efficient, but that also depends on the type of engine your car runs on.
Yeah that's true for all the other brands, but Gull buys excess pre-refined fuel overseas and imports it via Tauranga, hence why they don't have a South Island presence, and why they are often cheaper. It seems they've recently changed but they used to have about 3% ethanol in their 91,but they still have 10% ethanol in their 98 which will lead to worse gas mileage and the possibility of gumming up fuel injectors. So to clarify with updated info their 91 is probably fine these days, but stay away from their 98.

Ok. Abit late, but the following might be usefull to some of us cheapiees in a few arts of Auckland: if you've got a mobil smiles card, and your in reasonable driving distance of Birkenhead before 7.00pm.? (gull easter discount ends) - Mobil Verbena road, Birkenhead had a 91 pump price of $1.849. Minus the special smiles discount today of 10 cents p/l, = a great price of $1.75 P/L. ! (usual smiles conditions apply - e.g: $40 min fill on pump meter).
Best I could do is $1.819, Mobil Ormiston ($1.879, minus supermarket docket discount)
