It's that time again and that time is Discount Day 🎉
From 7am Thursday 28 June until 12pm midday Friday 29 June we’re dropping pump prices on all fuel types.
10c off per litre.

Nice to see they're staying on schedule with the discount day. It usually happens the week after the vouchers from the previous discount day expire.
Isn't it a week late this time? Mine expired on the 17th, so I expected it on 21-22 but it's this week instead. (Unless you mean a whole week and a bit after they expire. Statistically I think it's more commonly the 4 days or so, but this is only from memory since I don't have historic records of when the discount vouchers expired.)
I sense that other companies are unwilling to price match, well in Auckland anyways.
The neighbouring stations do price match e.g. Gull Kingsland and Mobil @ Sandringham Rd.
They normally do in my area but have had times when they didn't e.g. during the pipeline problems. I wouldn't be that surprised if footy7 is right and they don't this time, but we shall see.
So some matched but I think fewer than normally do at least near me. The BP along Swanson Road did. Well they were 204.9 but I think they dropped 10 cents and were 214.9. The Gull less than 100m or so away was 202.9. But the Mobil 300m away was 212.9. I'm fairly sure the Mobil sometimes matches. Mind you, this was at about 7.30 or something so it's possible they just hadn't matched yet.
The Z along Henderson Valley Road matched 202.9. But the Caltex and Mobil further away didn't 214.9. Although I know very little about whether these normally matched. (The Mobil is interesting since it's sort of in between 2 Gulls.)
Sometimes it works out cheaper from other fuel stations when Gull announce their discount days. I filled up at Z Pukete @ 1.93 after 6 cents flybuys discount, while Gull Te Rapa was 1.95
@shriramn: That's right, I filled up at Caltex New Lynn, they matched Gull New Lynn's pricing (2.02), but with AA Smartfuel, I got 14c discount on top of that matched pricing (1.88).
@shriramn: It's generally advisable to buy $5 fuel at Gull just to get the voucher (10% off so ~20 cents off), but fill up at a neighbouring station that has additional reward card discounts e.g. AA Smartfuel.
