  • This is selling so well but IMO $200 off isn't that special

    • It's $200 off their already reduced price, compare it to how much it is from other stores like JB, it's $1399 there. So this is a great price.

  • Agree good price. I would buy if I needed a new phone right now

  • Note 9 is a decent price too.

  • +1

Good price but keep in mind snapdragon 855 equipped phones are just around the corner now.
Also I personally prefer a less bloaty Android phone

    • i dont understand the fascination with faster newer chipset, is it less power consumption so you get more screen time? does it improve gaming experience? do you do complex math problems on your cellphones?

to me camera is number one priority when looking at phones

      • Absolutely, even mid level phones have enough power for most 98% of people now. Only those that use intensive competitive graphically games really require the extra power, and perhaps fringe cases of using them for video editing. The s9 has a fantastic camera and can run a gcam port now and use google nightsight if you’re running One UI.

      • 855 is built using 7nm rather than 10nm so yes it would have better power consumption while also faster.

Additionally it will also be equipped with dedicated image processing hardware to improve camera quality.

        • it will also be over 1k easy, so this is a fantastic deal for a great phone with great camera.

the difference between phones these days are too similar to the last unlike back in the day for example with HTC bringing the goods each new generation :)

          • @jackvdbuk: Agreed, I personally rock a OnePlus and wouldn't touch a Samsung.

You can still get a flagship spec without spending 1k.

    • I would hold off from the 855 chips and wait for optimizations and improvements for it. I reckon if you need a phone before Q2 2019 then the S9 for $799 is a great deal, if not, wait for new Qualcomm chipset. Even the S8 is plenty powerful enough for every mobile game on the market.
