  • 10c off at Caltex too (Thurs only) , but they aren't price matching with Gull so far.

  • Is there a particular reason why people go for Gull, other than the cheap price? My understanding is that their petrol quality is the worst and that it is diluted. I've tested this by topping up the same amount / litres at Gull and BP and I found that my car can drive longer on BP fuel as opposed to Gull fuel, based on the same amount of fuel consumption usage.

    • I found this too, Z and BP seems to have the best fuel, and when you factor in their 10c off days, they're most of the time cheaper than Gull

      • Exactly. And they almost always have the 10c off on every Wednesday / Thursday. If you're an AA member, or used to be one, your card will also get exclusive offers, sometimes 11c off, sometimes 15c or even 20c off. And if you spend money on other things, you can get more X cents off towards your card as well.

What do you think about Caltex's fuel? They also get 10c off and I used to use them, didn't find them bad or anything but found BP to be slightly cheaper and gets me further distance.

    • I have stopped going to Gull, but that has nothing to do with the quality of their petrol. It's just that in my area, BP and Caltex (sometimes Mobil and Z) will usually match their discount day prices and on top of that I get another 6c off with AA Smartfuel (or Mobil Smiles, Flybuys).
