I have the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 and as far as I know, there isn't an "international" version at the moment. You can check the Mi Pad 4 ROMs available for download on the official Xiaomi site. There isn't one for international, only for China. The ROM does come with English of course, but it's not a Global ROM. This means that you won't get Google Play or other Google apps on the ROM (because China don't use Google products or services). You'll have to sideload the apk files, which is a fairly easy process. You could however install a custom Xiaomi EU ROM for the Mi Pad 4 though, but requires unlocking bootloader and more work (not that hard).

Anyway, this is misleading, you should update or change it. Also, you could get it cheaper on Aliexpress at around $253 and apply some coupons for more discount:

    • But there is xiaomi.eu, which I have been using on all of my Xiaomi phones.

      • Yeah, pretty much what I said already lol:

"You could however install a custom Xiaomi EU ROM for the Mi Pad 4 though"

You could also install other custom ROMs like Cyanogenmod or whatever it's called now. But for Xiaomi devices, I personally stick with the official ROM. If I really want the new features, I would use the beta ROMs. Xiaomi devices has a lot of random issues and so the official ROMs tend to have better support and stability.

This is coming from someone who has owned a Xiaomi since their first phone came out. Also have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, Poco F1 (Xiaomi sub-brand), Xiaomi M365 scooter and the MiPad 4.

        • I replied before I read your comment.
I'm running xiaomi.eu weekly on F1. There is also stable version.

          • @Nythic: How does it compare to the official ROM? A lot of people complained on the Xiaomi forum about screen ghosting or not being sensitive when it comes to playing games, among other issues. The new firmware update that came out recently was supposed to have fixed the issue and introduce enhancements to the camera. But the update apparently introduced more issues that were pretty severe (can't remember what it was, update came out like 2 months ago), so they pulled the update and are testing it some more.

            • @NovaAlpha: I've got no major issues.
Only thing I've noticed is that Auto Brightness got worse few builds ago.

My phone is also rooted to use AdAway.

              • @Nythic: Cool beans, might try it at some point. I did use the EU rom before but never liked it, found it buggy on my Redmi Note 3 Pro.

You using Magisk with systemless adblock? I found that Magisk is harder to set up on Xiaomi devices, comapred to e.g. Samsung devices. You can't pass CTS properly, which basically fails SafetyNet and that means you can't use apps like Android Pay or even Jetsar (they detect root lol).

But I think there are Magisk modules that can help with passing SafetyNet nowadays though.
