It does work, it prolongs the time before food goes off, even once it is cooked. Less oxygen, less bacterial growth.
But I'd recommend reading theotherneil's comment as he is right on the money with this one requiring special containers and bags, which are quite expensive. So it's a case of the shaver and replacement blades model.
Smithscity has this model listed as clearance, so maybe it's been a bomb for Sunbeam or they have a newer model coming out
35 reusable bags are $23.99 at noel leeming, seems reasonable if you can reuse them over and over.
What a waste of space in your kitchen!
the thing is literally saving space for your freezer/fridge, any device is going to take some real estate.
Those food saver fresh models are a bit odd, you can only use the specific containers or special bags.
We have the proper (original) food savers and they are great. You can vacuum seal cheese, yeast, spices etc, then it lasts for ages.
But you can also just use it to seal any plastic bags (chips, pasta, biscuits etc)I got one of these using Flybuys points, tbh it was a really good purchase, we use it frequently.
Yes it does use special ocntainers but we haven't even touched the bags yet, we just use the containers and we managed to score a bundle deal on Amazon for the containers (they seem to be way cheaper there than NZ)
does vaccum sealing actually work with cooked foods?
