They spam call you then move to spam mailing you with sign up letters every now and then.
Comments like these from Drafiks and Tomo are exactly why Cheapies is the best choice for debunking "if it sounds too good to be true it probably is" !

I've blocked myself from the Herald. The internet really made it go down into the dumps with clickbaity articles and regularly citing Twitter as a source.
Yep, me too. Switched straight to RNZ, Reuters and Stuff. I switched when they changed to that new ridiculously shit web site design.
The NZ Herald is putting up their subscription prices again (I can't remember when, could be 1 June). Of course, if you're already a subscriber and phone up to cancel, they will often offer you a lower price, sometimes back to what you're currently paying.
They also recently started charging for some articles on their website, although that feature is free to subscribers.
Be careful entering your phone number as they will be calling you for months asking if you want to subscribe to the NZHerald
