  Not sure, I have one of the original Amazon Fire Sticks and its the only device I have that Amazon Prime refuses to stream on.

  You'll need a VPN to get the most out of a firetv stick, otherwise it's just a glorified plex/youtube client.

  FYI - I have 2 of these already (with VPN). Bought them for US$25 each a few months ago. Love them.

    Wait, so because they don't ship it to NZ, if you do get one you can't even use the NZ Amazon Prime on it? Or you mean the NZ Amazon Prime isn't very good?

      You can use amazon prime. The strength of the stick lies in being able to sideload apps like kodi to extend the functionality of it. It's fast and has a great remote that sends volume and power IR signals to your TV. Much better than a roku which you need the pay extra for all the model upgrades to get the equivalent features in the fire tv.

      The vpn unlocks the UK freeview channels (live and on demand) which are so good. I honestly can't recommend one enough.

  You can sideload Kodi onto these. Kodi, YouTube and Netflix all work without a VPN. It's a really solid device.
