  • Looking for monitor for graphic design, 35" seem a bit too big and this only come with 1080p with such a big screen. Anyone can recommend a 27" monitor deals suit for graphic work?

    • You'll likely want something with decent colour accuracy (100% SRGB coverage) which the monitor above wouldn't be any good for. You'll have to pay a bit more for that. The Dell Ultrasharp range is worth looking at, often on special for around $600.

      • Cheers mate! I will keep an eye on the ultrasharp range!

      • This a 102% sRGB IPS monitor. If you wanted something to work at a distance that you might find more comfortable if you have the space, it could be quite a good option vs a TV panel.

    • If you are on a budget look at trademe for used Dell Ultrasharp 24" Monitors, They sell for like 100-125 usually. They have very good color accuracy and excellent build quality as well. Have a couple as a dual monitor setup.

      • Good one! Definitely will check them out!

  • FYI this company is selling for $247.95 delivered.

Not sure if they are any good though, website is pretty rough.

No way would I recommend 1080p for such a large monitor as you'll really see the pixelation at this size. 1440p is IMO the minimum for a 30"+. I have a 40" Philips monitor (BDM4065UC) and 4K is the minimum for a monitor of that size.

Also a monitor this large will require you to tilt your head slightly to see the edges, which may not be preferable to some of you.

Not exactly a deal at the moment but if you are after a gaming monitor, the AOC CQ27G2 has been released rencently and has had rave reviews. Priced at $499 at most NZ retailers, was around $450 on blackfriday. Most other similar quality monitors are 600+

    Screen Size:27 inches Curved
    Screen Resolution:2560x1440
    Refresh Rate: 144hz
    Response Time: 1 ms
    Aspect Ratio:16:9
    Panel Type:VA
HDR + Freesync with Gsync compatibility I believe

Hopefully will get a price drop closer to $400 during the next round of sales.

  • Would this be any good as a home theatre tv? I normally use external tuner so don't need that. Just wondering whether it would work well for tv/movie type images.
