1000nzd should be for Lenovo flex Ryzen this should not be even more than 800nzd without any special

      milk the small market

    • was about to buy too, what would you guys recommend budget $1000

      • Wait for Ryzen deals with Acer and others with pbtech and some times NL has some deals, pbtech has great deals with amd around boxing day

        • +1

Boxing Day is still half year to wait lol

          • @bilberry: You can go for this one if your looking to buy something right now don't see you Acer or Dells with new Ryzen yet in NZ , I buy my computer from USA mostly Dells and forward it here

  • Clearly overpriced.

    • Clearly you don't know much about laptop pricing in NZ. For NZ pricing, this is probably one of the best laptops for it's value and price i've seen in recent times.

You might pickup a 3500U for this price but given how much the 4500U looks to perform over the 3500U (some show a 50% increase in CPU benchmark), this looks a pretty good deal.

Tough crowd - While I agree the pricing isn't as competitive as what we've seen in the likes of Australia with their recent Flex pricing, I still believe this is a good buy (atleast comparing to Huawei which are selling a last gen model for $1400 with similar specs), especially with how the new Ryzen series is performing.

Agree this price looks pretty good to me, especially given how good the new Ryzen chips are.

Yeah I'm not sure what the first 2 posters are on about, this same model is 690usd rrp, granted it has 512gb SSD rather than the 256gb found here.

Our computer prices have always been more expensive than many overseas countries and our phones and other electronics.

Look how much are the other Ryzen laptops are in NZ, and they're all 3000 series not the 4000 found in this one.

If I were in the market for a laptop at the moment this would definitely be on my shortlist.

Oh and I wouldn't touch Acers with a 10 foot barge pole, their build quality and reliability are horrid.

    • that is RRP, this is sale price.

The RRP of the ryzen 5 model is NZD1,399.00.

      $690usd = $1399nzd (with less SSD space)

And your shipping, GST and the lack of a NZ warranty and protection of the consumer guarantees act

      • +2

I think US price is usually pre tax as their tax rates are different in each state.

When I was in best buy CA I was surprised purchasing a kindle would require consumer tax as well as electronic disposal tax (or something to that effect) and it ended up costing around the same as PB tech.

Just so you guys know, when you order, there is a 2-3 month wait time, a bit too long for my liking but a heads up if you expected these for a birthday next week like me…
