With our TranzAlpine Winter Special, all fares are $75. You can choose any origin and any destination. You can stop as often as you like along the way. You can change the date free of charge or get a full refund if your plans change.

But hurry, this season things are looking a little different. The TranzAlpine will be returning on 4 July 2020 and operating a daily service throughout the school holidays, ending on 19 July 2020. After that, we will be running on weekends only until 30 August 2020 - when this deal ends! "

  FYI: the TranzAlpine is a 5hr train route that goes between Christchurch and Greymouth via Arthur's Pass. It travels CHCH-GM 08:15-13:05, then GM-CHCH 14:05-18:31.

  This is one of the most beautiful short train journeys in the world, and is usually about 500$ return trip, because it's priced for tourists. Winter is the absolute prime time too.

    It might be close to $500 if you book a flexi plus fare ($229 ow, crazy), but the usual starter fare is $109 each way for the full trip, way less than $500. It does cost more if you book from a non NZ IP address apparently, but tourists come from within NZ too.
