Samsung Galaxy A90 5G $399 (Save $600) on $60+ Vodafone Plans @ Noel Leeming (In Store)

40

Snapdragon 855, 6GB Ram, 128GB Rom, 6.7 inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen.

Great specs for that price if you want flagship specs and want a plan.

$99 Deposit and varying plan periods between 12 and 36 months. Their plans are "Open Term", so I don't know what happens if you downgrade plan or break prior to the selected period if you would retain discount or there is a penalty. Someone let me know if you have experience with Vodafone discount deals.

Here is link to deal on vodafone website, however they are $200 more expensive. https://www.vodafone.co.nz/shop/mobile/product-details/?skuIā€¦

  • Bought one on 1 year plan, not sure if I can cancel plan early, might try in a few weeks

    • I bought an iPhone discounted $300 at Christmas, Vodafone confirmed on the open term Plans I could cancel at any stage I would just have to pay the remainder owing on the phone straight away. I Cancelled within 2 days no problems.

      • I got told something different from Vodafone when I called (see my other response), but I have a feeling that what they say and what actually happens as in your case is not always consistent.

    • I just phoned Vodafone to ask them what would happen if cancelled or downgraded plan within the interest free period (e.g. 12 months) They said because it is not a fixed term contract, it is open term we can downgrade or cancel the plan however would be charged the remainder cost of the phone up front. I asked if that meant I would retain the $600 discount, he had to go talk to someone, came back and said that the $600 discount (based on 12 months) is allocated as $50 off the phone cost per month. So if 4 months later you cancel, you would have to pay back 8 months worth of discount.

However as @Esawers mentioned below, in reality that may not happen, that you would just be sent an invoice for the discounted cost of phone. Sometimes I think what we are told and what actually happens in their invoicing system is different.

    • Did you end up cancelling yet? And if so did you only have to pay $399 in total?

      • I've cancelled, but am still waiting for the bill. I did ask if I have to pay anything extra because it was discounted, and they said no, I will just need to pay the balance of the phone on the account. cheers
