Two and a half weeks early? Wild.

Out of curiosity, what's great about that TV vs. cheaper versions at TWH/Mighty Ape? Genuine question because I'm on the hunt for one much like Tmurder91

    • I was in the same boat. Got a lg qned86 55" for $700 with warranty from FB. Pretty happy with it for a guest tv. Look out for moving out deals.

      • Samsung and LG would be using Mostly the best panels for their TV's
Though the 7000 series is Samsungs budget line

    • friend bought a Vero one a while back and the speakers sounded like it was on crack

My favourite Twinkly lights are on clearance
These are the RGBW versions which have a more precise white colour light than RGB. Good price for both - not the cheapest ever for the 400 string but pretty sharp for the 250.

    250 string for $98
    400 string for $198

    • These are so much fun. I've got a new 400 string ready to go for Christmas.

      Price beat at Mitre10?

      • You can try.
They are clearance lines which which they may use as a reason to deny the price match (under their definition of a stock liquidation).
        But nothing to lose trying.

    • Do you think these will last a few years?

I’ve had Twinkly lights for a few years and never had a problem.
Be warned though - they are quite addictive and I find myself buying extra sets every time I see them at a good price!

My God Harvey Normans website is trash. I'm on a PC and I sort their Black Friday deals from low to high price and it only kind of sorts them.

    page 1 items $1 - $99
    page 2 items $38 - $114
    page 3 items $20 - $164
    page 4 items $74.50 - $278
    page 5 items $99.99 - $258
and so on and so forth

It's nearly 2025, how can such a large company have such a crappy website that doesn't even allow you the option of selecting it to display more than 40 items per page, and if you select it to display 40 items and then choose to sort them by price it reverts back to 20 items per page.

    • Seems I didn't get this error. Try this link: https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/event/black-friday/?items_per…

      • I still get it on both Edge and Chrome, tried incognito mode on 2 different computers.

Using your link the first page goes
        $1
        $1
        $1
        $17
        $14
        $14
        $9.99
        $24
        $16.64
        $21
        $21
        $22
        $27
        $18
        $10
with a random $99 item thrown in further down the page for good measure

The Samsung 55" S90D OLED looks like a good deal for $2183. https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/tv-and-audio/televisions/sams…

According to PriceSpy it's an all time low price for what is probably the best television on the market at the moment*

9/10 on RTings, the same score as the LG C4 OLED but currently over $1000 cheaper than the 55" version of that model.
    https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/s90d-s90dd-oled-qd…

This is what RTings had to say when comparing the 2 televisions

The Samsung S90D/S90DD OLED is mostly better than the LG C4 OLED. The Samsung gets brighter in HDR, so bright highlights stand out more on it, and it maintains its HDR brightness better while in 'Game Mode.' The Samsung TV also has a wider color gamut, better color volume, and better HDR gradient handling, so colors in HDR are more vibrant, lifelike, brighter, and have less banding. The Samsung has a wider viewing angle, and the image doesn't have a green tint that worsens as you move off-center, so it's the better choice for watching TV in a group setting. However, the LG supports Dolby Vision and DTS audio formats, so it's the better option for those looking to get the most out of their physical media.

*Be aware that Samsung uses 2 different kinds of panels for the S90D, QD-OLED and WOLED with QD-OLED being the better of the two. In Australia the 55" and 65" models use QD-OLED while other sizes use WOLED, and I'm assuming it's the same for NZ but it might pay to ask. It was $2046 from Smiths City yesterday lol but yea i agree it’s a great price for this OLED

      • +1

That's a crazy price, I guess PriceSpy missed that in their price history.

Can't believe it's so cheap, it's the best tv on the market and it's around the same price as one of Samsung's own lower midrange QLED's, the Q70D (currently $1988 on sale), that according to RTings doesn't even have local dimming.

        • It was the 11% off code so Pricespy wouldn’t have been able to track that

I’m surprised Harvey Norman sells games these days, considering they have a 5 years and 5 versions old game at a ‘huge deal’ of $80 lol
    https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/gaming/games/xbox-games/xbox-…

    • And the thing is, when I ran a gaming store back in the early 2000's we'd receive credit from the suppliers for existing stock on hand when a game dropped in price so we could sell that existing stock at the new lower rrp without losing any money, and many times with the franchise games we'd either keep receiving credits lowering the cost price until we could just throw the old games in the bargain bin, or they'd just ask us to send them back for a full credit.

I assume it still works that way. Your eyes must light up if you're a salesperson and some clueless grandparents walk in wanting one of these Playbox things for little Johnny, my first question would be "does little Johnny like soccer?"
