Had the Z strip on my PriceSpy alerts and it’s dropped significantly (lowest all time price), found out that PB are doing a flash sale on all their smart lighting products.

  • Notice still they're not particularly bright options unfortunately.

Those that are both Alexa controllable and dimmable, has anyone had experience with that? How do you instruct alexa to turn the light down for example?

Any brands known to be better than others from the various ones on offer here?

    • Ive got alexa controlled dimmable lights. Just gotta say "alexa turn down the lounge light to 50% brightness". Just gotta simplify things for her its really easy

    • I have owned both the xiaomi and lifx bulbs running both on google and alexa. Lifx response time is faster than the xiaomi bulbs. Not sure if this has changed in the recent years but when I last used the xiaomi bulbs, the most annoying part was that it has like a 1sec ish delay when i tell it to turn on and off. My Lifx turns on instantly.
However, the Lifx bulb has the annoying issue of randomly disconnecting off the wifi which requires me to reset it once in a while.
Main reason i stuck with Lifx was due to the 1000+ lumens they offer for their highest tier bulbs which i found the 800ish lumens to be some what lacking for me.

      • I suspect the reason why taper down on the lumens output, is to ensure component longevity. Just have more lights 😉

PB Tech also has this cheaper Yeelight led strip - 4 units left at time of posting:

  • It looks like someone used price beat at Bunnings for the Brilliant GU10 smart bulb, the price is now $18.90 each at unlimited quantities, but note there may be limited stock in store.

Be quick as the PB Tech sale ends today.

    • When someone does price beat how quickly does Bunnings update their prices to reflect?

Pretty much instantly. The Bunnings website will display the old price for a few hours but the in-store POS will show the lower price.
