I would see that as a good thing in terms of their reputation (they refunded immediately).
However, I would wonder why they did not just send you an unopened replacement.
Alan.
Apparently it was the last unit. The seal sticker was carefully placed to look like it hadn't been ripped/opened. Only once I got home I realised it had been opened before. I should've checked properly when I was picking it up instore so partly my fault.
They should have marked the unit as "opened" and sell it at a discounted price.
From a consumer's perspective, especially for a CPU….I would see it as an opportunity to bargain for a lower price;)
Haha yeah I suppose so. But was just quite put off that they were selling a opened unit as brand new, could have been refurbished for all I knew. Just wanted to avoid them altogether and purchase elsewhere.
I've heard of dodgy encounters as well from friends at this place. I would rather goto PBTech instead from just across the road.
What, PB are renowned for that sort of carry-on
Yeah, but Extreme is worse, lol
Most of these items have been on sale for a couple of months now. Extreme PC and Playtech tend to put already discounted items into a 'something special' sale now and then to give it more attention.
at Playtech you say… I'd blame Rowan for that!
I think they have a flat-rate shipping price that often doesn't make things worthwhile to buy compared to other outlets, when I last checked it wasn't item based (IE: a monitor and wifi adaptor cost the same to shit)
I would be careful purchasing from here. I purchased a Intel CPU from them last year, once I got home noticed that the official Intel seal sticker had been ripped suggesting that the unit had been opened before. Fortunately they refunded me straight away.
